Suzy Peltas Triple Chocolate Scones

Fish and chips, rhubarb and custard, Chas and Dave, roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, black cabs and red buses are arguably amongst others some of the most famous British pairs of all time

But there is one missing, one which you would of thought the #teaclub would mention first.

Tea and Scones.

A regular mid morning snack at the office for the #teaclub tea and scones has almost become a way of life for us.

So when the chance to try and bake our own came along we jumped at the chance. This chance came courtesy of ‘Bake With Suzy’

‘Bake With Suzy’ was launched by Suzy Pelta who in 2012 won ‘Lorraines Cake Club Competition’ on ITVs ‘Lorraine Show’

Included in the ‘Bake With Suzy’ range is a Triple Chocolate Scone baking kit.

All products come beautifully packaged as you can see below

Included in the kit is all the dry ingredients you need to bake. All you need to add is 75g of butter, 100ml of milk and a pinch of salt. Also included is a easy to follow step-by-step recipe card

First thing to do before anything is make a cup of tea. After that (step 1 on the card) preheat the oven.

Steps 2 and 3 is mixing the dry ingredients with the butter which brings us to this stage

Steps 4 and 5 involves adding the milk and the chocolate chips. We also get some advice from our baking friend Suzy to not eat any of the chocolate chips. After this your dough should look like this

Step 6 (the final step on the card) sees us divide the dough in to individual scones. We got 17 decent sized scones.

Around 10 minutes in the oven is all it takes for the scones to bake, your house to fill with a wonderful aroma and to make another cup of tea.

The finished scones

Delicious hot or cold these wont last long in your house. We tried these on their own and with some good quality black currant jam and cream. These scones have a moist centre but are crumbly at the same time. A good chocolate taste it’s easy to eat several in one sitting.

With a kit like this you can’t go wrong. Get the family involved.
